Many have found that not all Hoodia gordonii is created equal
I believe this is just beginning of the Hoodia craze and there is still much to know about this amazing plant. As world demand grows for a plant that at this time is in limited supply the buyer should be aware. With everyone wanting Hoodia's all natural effect of reducing your food intake by 1,000 calories a day there are going to be fraudulent companies out there trying to make a quick buck. These companies will try to profit from the Hoodia phenomenon and put out bogus Hoodia ground up from who knows what that comes from who knows where.
One should look for only Genuine South African Certified 100% Pure Hoodia gordonii and make sure you are buying it from a reputable company. There two other questionable practices some companies out there are doing that you should be aware of before you buy Hoodia. The first is when a company sells a product with a hoodia label but when you look at the ingredients you realize there is only a small amount of hoodia and they have added several other ingredients. So how much hoodia should you be looking for in your supplement? What reputable companies are saying is that the recommended dosage is 400 mg before meals.
The second questionable practice that is being seen by overzealous companies is using the a 20:1 extract, although this extraction process can work for some types of herbs, it has been found not to work well with hoodia. In this extraction process the hoodia is weakened and in some cases no discernable P57, the active ingredient in hoodia can be found at all. In closing, be careful out there, its early yet in the story of Hoodia and although it shows great promise for the world you dont want to get scammed by a fraudulent company. Definitely try Hoodia; just do your homework first.
