As the cartoon character Popeye said: “Dat’s all I can stanz, I can’t stanz no more!”
That has become my motto for losing some weight.

Six pairs of expensive dress slacks, beautiful shirts, two suits and a sports coat and none of them fit me anymore - I was depressed most of the time and got down to wearing sweat pants, cargo shorts and XXL T shirts. I’m 5′ 4″ tall so when I finally got the courage to get myself on the bathroom scale I realized that I weighed as much as a man who was 6 feet!

Here’s what’s working for me and I hope it helps you.

Water - Try to drink a gallon a day - goodbye diet soda - its hard to kick the cola habit at the start but after a few days the food tastes much better and when old man hunger comes around take a gulp or two.

Mind Set - I have been on diets most of my adult life and my mind set was to eat less and deal with hunger - Now I eat little portions of everything throughout the day and its working for me.

In this way, you can keep your metabolism up, enabling you to burn calories consistently throughout the morning and afternoon. Generally speaking, however, you should only eat when you’re actually experiencing hunger. A survey conducted in 1999 found that 60 percent of Americans skip breakfast. However, you should be aware of the fact that eating breakfast can be a key to losing weight. If you don’t skip breakfast, you’ll find that you’ll burn calories faster, leading to weight loss.Try to avoid eating late-night snacks. This is because your body will probably store the calories rather than burn them off. Again, your snacking may not be the result of actual hunger but simply because you have nothing better to do at that time of the night. Simply changing your nightly routine may help you to keep away from food at the midnight hour. No doubt, it can be quite difficult to change your eating routine. You may have eaten three large meals all your life, and you find it difficult to stop. However, just a few subtle changes will help to transform both your day—and your appetite. If you find yourself reverting to your old routine, forgive yourself, and start again. A Paleolithic diet confers higher insulin sensitivity, lower C-reactive protein and lower blood pressure than a cereal-based diet in domestic pigs
Background:
A Paleolithic diet has been suggested to be more in concordance with human evolutionary legacy than a cereal based diet. This might explain the lower incidence among hunter-gatherers of diseases of affluence such as type 2 diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to experimentally study the long-term effect of a Paleolithic diet on risk factors for these diseases in domestic pigs. We examined glucose tolerance, post-challenge insulin response, plasma C-reactive protein and blood pressure after 15 months on Paleolithic diet in comparison with a cereal based swine feed.
Methods:
Upon weaning twenty-four piglets were randomly allocated either to cereal based swine feed (Cereal group) or cereal free Paleolithic diet consisting of vegetables, fruit, meat and a small amount of tubers (Paleolithic group). At 17 months of age an intravenous glucose tolerance test was performed and pancreas specimens were collected for immunohistochemistry.
